“Braving Conversations: How to Talk to Your Children About Difficult Events and Situations, Part Two,” Jan. 27 at Noon

TCS families are invited to join our next Parents Association (PA) meeting discussion on Wed., Jan. 27, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. This month’s topic is “Braving Conversations: How to Talk to Your Children About Difficult Events and Situations, Part Two.”

We know our children need help making sense of what they are seeing and hearing while leaving enough space to allow them to formulate their own opinions. At the same time, it can feel heavy to converse with your child when as grownups you find yourself still processing your own emotions and responses to the ongoing social and political events.

There is an offering of important teachable moments to engage children in discussions about their identities, human diversity, fairness and unfairness, and the right of people to stand up for their beliefs. Children need direct, truthful responses shaped to meet their developmental level of understanding.

Join us to reflect and share with one another about how you are braving conversations at home with your children.
