New Face Around Our Space: Eliél Freer-Sullivan

About Eliel

Hi there! My name is Eliél Freer-Sullivan, and I am the new music teacher at The Children’s School! I was born and raised in the WARM state of São Paulo, Brazil and I moved to the United States four years ago. I began my career studying music education and Bossa Nova. Once I moved to America, I attended Georgia State University for general music and choral education.

What are you most excited about this year?

I am most excited about cooperating with teachers and students in this unbelievably diverse community. I have so much to share and so much to learn!

When you’re not at school, where can we find you?

If not at school, you will probably find me watching a Brazilian soccer game at a Brazilian restaurant in Marietta or doing outdoor activities with my husband, Justin, at Piedmont Park.

Where is your favorite vacation spot?

I was lucky enough to travel to many countries. I hope my own beloved country doesn’t feel jealous, but my heart will always melt every time I visit Provincetown, a charming and magical Portuguese community in Cape Cod, MA.

Which fictional character would you most like to meet?

Although not necessarily a fictional character, Amy Winehouse has inspired movies, TV shows, and many songs with her short but memorable life. I would love to get a chance to meet her!
