“Braving Conversations: How to Talk to Your Kids About Difficult Events and Situations,” Nov. 17

Join Lower School Director of Student Life and Director of Equity and Inclusion Morgan Darby during our next PA meeting on Tues., Nov. 17 at 6:30 p.m. for a discussion on “Braving Conversations: How to Talk to Your Children About Difficult Events and Situations.”

We know our children need help making sense of what they see and hear while leaving enough space to allow them to formulate their own opinions. At the same time, it can feel heavy to converse with your child when you find yourself still processing your own emotions and responses to the ongoing social and political events. There are important teachable moments to engage children in discussions about their identities, human diversity, fairness and unfairness, and the right of people to stand up for their beliefs. Children need direct, truthful responses shaped to meet their developmental level of understanding.

Join us to reflect and share with one another about how you are braving conversations at home with your children.

Check “Happenings” for the Zoom link to join the meeting.
