The Children’s School is excited to welcome Elizabeth Miller as our interim head of school for the 2025–26 academic year!
Elizabeth brings over two decades of experience in education, having served as a teacher, upper school head, founding deputy head of school, and head of school. Her leadership spans schools in the U.S. and abroad, including launching a school in Dubai.
Elizabeth’s career began right here in Atlanta, her “adult home,” as a history teacher at Pace Academy. Her passion for student-centered learning and experiential education has shaped her work ever since.
Prior to working in education, Elizabeth had a successful career in international business. She received her bachelor’s in journalism from Ohio Wesleyan University and earned a master’s in regional studies East Asia (RSEA) from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Arts & Sciences.
Together with her husband Mark, Elizabeth has raised two sons, both Eagle Scouts, who have benefited tremendously from independent schools and the mentoring of the caring teachers who work there. At home, she enjoys photography, reading historical fiction, and spending time with her two cats, Maxwell and Mimi.
As interim head, Elizabeth is committed to continuing TCS’s tradition of academic excellence and joyful learning, while preparing the school for its exciting future. We’re thrilled to have her at the helm until June 30, 2026 as we begin another inspiring year at The Children’s School.
