The Wolf Pack Conquers Fall Season of TCS Athletics

The Children’s School’s ultimate frisbee, volleyball, and cross country teams have fantastic achievements to celebrate due to their hard work, determination, and incredible teamwork during the fall season of TCS Athletics!

The first-ever TCS Ultimate Frisbee team flew into the new sport with enthusiasm. During their first season, the team was able to work on their throwing, a foundational skill in ultimate frisbee, and vertical stacking. They scored plenty of points in each game and learned a lot about the game. Coach Andrew recalled one of the best moments of the season when he became inspired by the team’s optimistic attitude after their first loss against a team of seven-foot-tall eighth-graders: “Hearing them staying positive after a very definitive loss was so encouraging. One player said, ‘I think that was a learning experience. We were really confident but need to practice more.'”

TCS volleyball players crushed it on the court this fall. The team grew stronger and more confident in their skills every day through Coach Kristine and Coach Michelle’s careful guidance and earned some big wins against schools like Torah Day School and Atlanta Jewish Academy.

TCS cross country runners worked on building endurance and beating their personal best running times, all while putting our beautiful Midtown resources, such as The Atlanta Beltline, to good use for practice. Coach Jenny, Coach Sharon, and Coach Dianne led the team to several victories and encourages them to continue practicing and improving their skills. “Many of you improved your 1-mile times this season. We are so proud of your hard work and effort,” said Coach Jenny.

Here are overall highlights from this season:

  • Coach Rob noted that our Ultimate Frisbee team’s top thrower was Langston, top receiver was Imani, and top hustler was Jackson!
  • TCS’ Taylor D. was selected to play on the MAAC All-Star Volleyball team!
  • TCS won the SAYSL Cross Country Championships! In the girls’ race, Chandler, Ava, Avery, and Lucy placed 1st – 4th, while Beau and Liam Smith finished in 2nd and 3rd place in the boys’ race.
  • In the MAAC Cross Country Championships, Zander broke our school record for a two-mile middle school cross country course with an outstanding time of 13:26:60 and finished in 7th place in our division!

Congratulations to our volleyball, cross country, and ultimate frisbee teams and coaches! The Wolf Pack is so proud of you.
