New Face Around our Space: Sean Sweeney

About Sean

Greetings TCS, my name is Sean Marie Sweeney and I am taking on the new role of Director of Curricular Innovation and Learning Design. I come to Atlanta after spending a year traveling the U.S. observing learning in action at various schools who have broken tradition with their approach to education.

Prior to exploring the changing landscape of education across America, I resided in Lima, Peru working at Colegio Roosevelt, The American School of Lima, Peru as the Director of Instructional Innovation and Technology. However, my seven years as a sixth grade science and language arts teacher is foundation for the educational leader I am today.

What are you most excited about this year?
I am most excited about learning alongside the students and teachers as we immerse ourselves in all that Atlanta has to offer.

When you’re not at school, where can we find you?
If not at school, then you can find me taking on a new adventure with my dog Brinco by my side! You might spot us on the Beltline, hiking at one of the nature preserves, or cruising down the highway to a destination we have yet to explore!

Where is your favorite vacation spot?
There are too many fantastic spots in this world to narrow it down to just one place! A fun fact about me is that I have lived on three continents and traveled to visit all seven.

Which fictional character would you most like to meet?
The fictional character I would most like to meet is Sam-I-am, because I have always wanted to try green eggs and ham (specifically on a boat or with a goat)!
