TCS Atlanta Welcomed Jay Rapp from NAIS Last Week

Vice President of Professional Development at the National Association for Independent Schools (NAIS) Jay Rapp dropped by The Children’s School last week to check out our innovative approach to learning.

“TCS does a great job of taking advantage of its urban location,” said Jay. “The sixth grade (immersive project-based learning) unit on the refugee crisis is a great example of this.”

Jay was in town because NAIS will have their national conference in Atlanta in March 2017, and he is leading a think tank made up of ten or so members from local schools, including Nishant, to brainstorm speaker possibilities and program logistics for the upcoming conference.

“I wanted Nishant included in the think tank because he has a unique way of looking at things,” said Jay.

Jay and Nishant have been friends for more than 13 years. They met when they worked together on the NAIS People of Color Conference and on the Diversity Leadership Institute.
